I Think It's Almost Christmas Time

At age 9, Donna was performing in Los Angeles as part of "The Moppets Group" and was already taking her career very seriously. This was her first record, recorded under her real name, Donna Zukor, and produced by Jesse Hodges, who also arranged the vocals on Donna's 1963 release, "If You Loved Me". The B-Side was "My Christmas Prayer", vocal by Jesse Hodges.

In 1962, Donna was signed by the American Publishing Company to sing demos. Other artists on their roster at the time were Glenn Campbell, Johnny Rivers, Hal Blaine, Frank Gorshin and Jimmy Bowen. Donna was the company's first artist and this was their first production on the Crest label. It was also the first record under the Donna Loren name. It was produced by Jimmy Bowen (his first production), arranged by Gene Page and recorded at Goldstar Studios in Hollywood.

Interestingly, "Wishin and Hopin" was the first song Donna sang on "Shindig" in the 60šs. In 1984 she went to Nashville and put a country twist on this Dusty Springfield classic written by Bacharach and David. Donna co-produced with her 60's producer, Jimmy Bowen with arrangements by Nick DeCaro. Other musicians included David Hungate (Toto), James Burton and John Thomas.
