"Summertime starts this week, so on this episode, we could think of no-one better to speak with than American singer and actress, Donna Loren, best-known for her work in the American International Pictures Beach Party movie franchise. Loren not only appeared in Beach Blanket Bingo, Bikini Beach, and Muscle Beach Party, but the prolific '60s performer was the "Dr Pepper Girl," the featured singer on Shindig!, and guest-starred on both Batman and The Monkees. She left entertainment at the height of her fame in 1968 to start and raise a family, and while she recorded occasionally in the '80s, didn't return to music in a big way until 2009."
From & Inspired By is a podcast dedicated to movie soundtracks and the people behind them. Each episode, we cover the music from a film, and speak to someone involved with it. Be it musicians, music supervisors, actors, or otherwise, we hope to shed light on the fantastic tunes in the films you love.

About the Show: “What began as a protest toward the current television industry's continual snubbing of its history, its pioneers, and its heritage has blossomed into a series of over 500 broadcasts preserving classic TV and the people responsible for it. Each broadcast contains in-depth discussion of lives, careers, behind-the-scenes memories, as well as recollections of events and programs we all grew up watching!”

Donna's in-depth interview with Sheila Burgel of WFMU Radio in New York. In Sheila's words: "This may just be the best interview I’ve ever done, thanks to Donna’s honesty, openness, and compassion. She shared so openly about her experience as a child working in Hollywood, cutting records with California’s top music-makers like Glen Campbell and David Axelrod, starring on rock n’ roll TV show Shindig, and promoting Dr Pepper—all whilst being heavily guarded by her step-father and the Dr Pepper corporation."
